Now after some days, when he returned to Capernaum, the news spread that he was at home.

He did not speak to them without a parable. But privately he explained everything to his own disciples.

So he sent another slave to them again. This one they struck on the head and treated outrageously.

Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus into their hands.

Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Then they knelt down and paid homage to him.

The angel came to her and said, “Greetings, favored one, the Lord is with you!”

And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom, and the favor of God was upon him.

and ‘with their hands they will lift you up, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”

Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.

Then someone from the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, because Jesus was going to pass that way.

For if such things are done when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?”

There was also an inscription over him, “This is the king of the Jews.”

Furthermore, some women of our group amazed us. They were at the tomb early this morning,

I did not recognize him, but I came baptizing with water so that he could be revealed to Israel.”

The woman replied, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “Right you are when you said, ‘I have no husband,’

Jesus told him, “Go home; your son will live.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and set off for home.
