David himself, by the Holy Spirit, said, ‘The Lord said to my lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.”’

Wherever he enters, tell the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’

where for forty days he endured temptations from the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and when they were completed, he was famished.

After the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. So they kept silent and told no one at that time anything of what they had seen.

But when a stronger man attacks and conquers him, he takes away the first man’s armor on which the man relied and divides up his plunder.

“When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, because a person more distinguished than you may have been invited by your host.

After a few days, the younger son gathered together all he had and left on a journey to a distant country, and there he squandered his wealth with a wild lifestyle.

Then his son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

On the last day of the feast, the greatest day, Jesus stood up and shouted out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me, and

I will not speak with you much longer, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me,

This one heaven must receive until the time all things are restored, which God declared from times long ago through his holy prophets.

So the twelve called the whole group of the disciples together and said, “It is not right for us to neglect the word of God to wait on tables.

yet he did not leave himself without a witness by doing good, by giving you rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying you with food and your hearts with joy.”

so that they would search for God and perhaps grope around for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

Paul looked directly at the council and said, “Brothers, I have lived my life with a clear conscience before God to this day.”

“So,” he said, “let your leaders go down there with me, and if this man has done anything wrong, they may bring charges against him.”

When the fourteenth night had come, while we were being driven across the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors suspected they were approaching some land.

So what benefit did you then reap from those things that you are now ashamed of? For the end of those things is death.

For I consider that our present sufferings cannot even be compared to the glory that will be revealed to us.

It is the same for you. If you do not speak clearly with your tongue, how will anyone know what is being said? For you will be speaking into the air.
