After Jesus called the twelve together, he gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases,

Yet another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say goodbye to my family.”

so that this generation may be held accountable for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning of the world,

And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and there is.

Jesus said to his disciples, “Stumbling blocks are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come!

Then Jesus told them a parable to show them they should always pray and not lose heart.

Then Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this household, because he too is a son of Abraham!

For it will overtake all who live on the face of the whole earth.

And Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”

The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon – and now, something greater than Solomon is here!

So Simeon, directed by the Spirit, came into the temple courts, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what was customary according to the law,

Then astonishment seized them all, and they glorified God. They were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen incredible things today.”

The experts in the law and the Pharisees watched Jesus closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they could find a reason to accuse him.

Once when Jesus was praying by himself, and his disciples were nearby, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”

Now an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus, saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

Now he was casting out a demon that was mute. When the demon had gone out, the man who had been mute began to speak, and the crowds were amazed.

It was appropriate to celebrate and be glad, for your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost and is found.’”

Now at one point the Pharisees asked Jesus when the kingdom of God was coming, so he answered, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed,

Now people were even bringing their babies to him for him to touch. But when the disciples saw it, they began to scold those who brought them.

And when Jesus came to that place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down quickly, because I must stay at your house today.”
