Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath.

Five of the virgins were foolish, and five were wise.

But the wise ones took flasks of olive oil with their lamps.

When the bridegroom was delayed a long time, they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is here! Come out to meet him.’

Later, the other virgins came too, saying, ‘Lord, lord! Let us in!’

But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I do not know you!’

He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or naked and clothe you?

When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

And these will depart into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

But they said, “Not during the feast, so that there won’t be a riot among the people.”

Now while Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper,

When the disciples saw this, they became indignant and said, “Why this waste?

For you will always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me!

When it was evening, he took his place at the table with the twelve.

But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”

What is your verdict?” They answered, “He is guilty and deserves death.”

Then they spat in his face and struck him with their fists. And some slapped him,

But he denied it in front of them all: “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
