Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for an accusation against this man.”

Then he said to them, “What are these matters you are discussing so intently as you walk along?” And they stood still, looking sad.

Then he said to them, “Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

And while they still could not believe it (because of their joy) and were amazed, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

and said to them, “Thus it stands written that the Christ would suffer and would rise from the dead on the third day,

So Mary said, “Yes, I am a servant of the Lord; let this happen to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her.

She exclaimed with a loud voice, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child in your womb!

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! Listen carefully, for I proclaim to you good news that brings great joy to all the people:

But he replied, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘You are to worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”

But Jesus said to them, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns too, for that is what I was sent to do.”

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and lower your nets for a catch.”

Simon answered, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your word I will lower the nets.”

When Jesus perceived their hostile thoughts, he said to them, “Why are you raising objections within yourselves?

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax booth. “Follow me,” he said to him.

Jesus answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do.

So Jesus said to them, “You cannot make the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them, can you?

Jesus answered them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry –

Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save a life or to destroy it?”

After looking around at them all, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” The man did so, and his hand was restored.
