These are the names of the sons of Israel who entered Egypt – each man with his household entered with Jacob:

Then a new king, who did not know about Joseph, came to power over Egypt.

And because the midwives feared God, he made households for them.

Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Yes, do so.” So the young girl went and got the child’s mother.

He looked this way and that and saw that no one was there, and then he attacked the Egyptian and concealed the body in the sand.

Now a priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came and began to draw water and fill the troughs in order to water their father’s flock.

When some shepherds came and drove them away, Moses came up and defended them and then watered their flock.

When she bore a son, Moses named him Gershom, for he said, “I have become a resident foreigner in a foreign land.”

So now go, and I will send you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.”

You will also take in your hand this staff, with which you will do the signs.”

Then Moses and Aaron went and brought together all the Israelite elders.

That same day Pharaoh commanded the slave masters and foremen who were over the people:

When they went out from Pharaoh, they encountered Moses and Aaron standing there to meet them,

“Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt that he must release the Israelites from his land.”

Each man threw down his staff, and the staffs became snakes. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.

But if you refuse to release them, then I am going to plague all your territory with frogs.

The magicians did the same with their secret arts and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt too.

But if you refuse to release my people, I am going to bring locusts into your territory tomorrow.

They will eat the meat the same night; they will eat it roasted over the fire with bread made without yeast and with bitter herbs.

You must observe this event as an ordinance for you and for your children forever.
