But they said, “Not during the feast, so that there won’t be a riot among the people.”

When the disciples saw this, they became indignant and said, “Why this waste?

Then one of the twelve, the one named Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests

What is your verdict?” They answered, “He is guilty and deserves death.”

saying, “Prophesy for us, you Christ! Who hit you?”

Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many charges they are bringing against you?”

In the same way even the chief priests – together with the experts in the law and elders – were mocking him:

When some of the bystanders heard it, they said, “This man is calling for Elijah.”

But Jesus rebuked him: “Silence! Come out of him!”

Simon’s mother-in-law was lying down, sick with a fever, so they spoke to Jesus at once about her.

When they found him, they said, “Everyone is looking for you.”

When his family heard this they went out to restrain him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”

He answered them and said, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”

He taught them many things in parables, and in his teaching said to them:

And he said, “Whoever has ears to hear had better listen!”

(For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of that man, you unclean spirit!”)

for she kept saying, “If only I touch his clothes, I will be healed.”

But when Herod heard this, he said, “John, whom I beheaded, has been raised!”

He said, “What comes out of a person defiles him.

He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They replied, “Seven.”
