Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must all be born from above.’

So the disciples began to say to one another, “No one brought him anything to eat, did they?”

But he said to them, “It is I. Do not be afraid.”

Jesus replied, “Do not complain about me to one another.

So Jesus said to the twelve, “You don’t want to go away too, do you?”

Then the Jewish leaders were astonished and said, “How does this man know so much when he has never had formal instruction?”

Do not judge according to external appearance, but judge with proper judgment.”

Then the Pharisees answered, “You haven’t been deceived too, have you?

None of the rulers or the Pharisees have believed in him, have they?

But this rabble who do not know the law are accursed!”

If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.”

If I do not perform the deeds of my Father, do not believe me.

for it is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.”

You don’t want to kill me the way you killed the Egyptian yesterday, do you?’

For three days he could not see, and he neither ate nor drank anything.

Watch out, then, that what is spoken about by the prophets does not happen to you:

Even by saying these things, they scarcely persuaded the crowds not to offer sacrifice to them.

For I did not hold back from announcing to you the whole purpose of God.

Because he could not be persuaded, we said no more except, “The Lord’s will be done.”

You who tell others not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?
