The Pharisees and the experts in the law asked him, “Why do your disciples not live according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with unwashed hands?”

The disciples were astonished at these words. But again Jesus said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!

Many scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Both those who went ahead and those who followed kept shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
