What more can David say to you? You have given your servant special recognition, O Lord God!

and sent word through Nathan the prophet that he should be named Jedidiah for the Lord’s sake.

In my distress I called to the Lord; I called to my God. From his heavenly temple he heard my voice; he listened to my cry for help.

The depths of the sea were exposed; the inner regions of the world were uncovered by the Lord’s battle cry, by the powerful breath from his nose.

The one true God acts in a faithful manner; the Lord’s promise is reliable; he is a shield to all who take shelter in him.

Indeed, who is God besides the Lord? Who is a protector besides our God?

But he made a stand in the middle of that area. He defended it and defeated the Philistines; the Lord gave them a great victory.

When David got up the next morning, the Lord had already spoken to Gad the prophet, David’s seer:

I, the servant of my lord the king, give it all to the king!” Araunah also told the king, “May the Lord your God show you favor!”

The king swore an oath: “As certainly as the Lord lives (he who has rescued me from every danger),

Why then have you broken the oath you made before the Lord and disobeyed the order I gave you?”

But King Solomon will be empowered and David’s dynasty will endure permanently before the Lord.”

But now the Lord my God has made me secure on all fronts; there is no adversary or dangerous threat.

He prepared the inner sanctuary inside the temple so that the ark of the covenant of the Lord could be placed there.

Once the priests left the holy place, a cloud filled the Lord’s temple.

Now my father David had a strong desire to build a temple to honor the Lord God of Israel.

Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in front of the entire assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward the sky.

May the Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors. May he not abandon us or leave us.

Then all the nations of the earth will recognize that the Lord is the only genuine God.

May you demonstrate wholehearted devotion to the Lord our God by following his rules and obeying his commandments, as you are presently doing.”
