Now when it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who was also a disciple of Jesus.

Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will turn you into fishers of people.”

Then Jesus entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand.

So he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Stand up among all these people.”

He also said, “The kingdom of God is like someone who spreads seed on the ground.

Just as Jesus was getting out of the boat, a man with an unclean spirit came from the tombs and met him.

For from within, out of the human heart, come evil ideas, sexual immorality, theft, murder,

For what benefit is it for a person to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his life?

But if we say, ‘From people – ’” (they feared the crowd, for they all considered John to be truly a prophet).

Then everyone will see the Son of Man arriving in the clouds with great power and glory.

Then he began to curse, and he swore with an oath, “I do not know this man you are talking about!”

“This is what the Lord has done for me at the time when he has been gracious to me, to take away my disgrace among people.”

Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man does not live by bread alone.’”

Now in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,

When Jesus saw their faith he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”

For what does it benefit a person if he gains the whole world but loses or forfeits himself?

Woe to you! You are like unmarked graves, and people walk over them without realizing it!”

But Jesus said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or arbitrator between you two?”

You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

But Jesus said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many guests.
