And pointing toward his disciples he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!

For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

For Herod had arrested John, bound him, and put him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife,

Six days later Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them privately up a high mountain.

Then Peter came to him and said, “Lord, how many times must I forgive my brother who sins against me? As many as seven times?”

So also my heavenly Father will do to you, if each of you does not forgive your brother from your heart.”

And the king will answer them, ‘I tell you the truth, just as you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did it for me.’

Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee. They will see me there.”

As he went along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, Simon’s brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishermen).

Going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother in their boat mending nets.

to James and his brother John, the sons of Zebedee, he gave the name Boanerges (that is, “sons of thunder”);

Then Jesus’ mother and his brothers came. Standing outside, they sent word to him, to summon him.

A crowd was sitting around him and they said to him, “Look, your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you.”

And looking at those who were sitting around him in a circle, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!

He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James.

But when John rebuked Herod the tetrarch because of Herodias, his brother’s wife, and because of all the evil deeds that he had done,

Why do you see the speck in your brother’s eye, but fail to see the beam of wood in your own?

Now Jesus’ mother and his brothers came to him, but they could not get near him because of the crowd.

But he replied to them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”

Then someone from the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
