The expert in the law said to him, “That is true, Teacher; you are right to say that he is one, and there is no one else besides him.

If David himself calls him ‘Lord,’ how can he be his son?” And the large crowd was listening to him with delight.

Then he sat down opposite the offering box, and watched the crowd putting coins into it. Many rich people were throwing in large amounts.

Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left on another. All will be torn down!”

“But in those days, after that suffering, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light;

Stay alert, then, because you do not know when the owner of the house will return – whether during evening, at midnight, when the rooster crows, or at dawn –

I tell you the truth, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”

Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’

Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, today – this very night – before a rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”
