If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?”

but they could not find a way to do it, for all the people hung on his words.

So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

So he said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you will not fall into temptation!”

Then they said, “Why do we need further testimony? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips!”

And while they still could not believe it (because of their joy) and were amazed, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

Then they said to him, “Who are you? Tell us so that we can give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

Jesus replied, “Woman, why are you saying this to me? My time has not yet come.”

His mother told the servants, “Whatever he tells you, do it.”

So then the Jewish leaders responded, “What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”

When they were all satisfied, Jesus said to his disciples, “Gather up the broken pieces that are left over, so that nothing is wasted.”

In the law Moses commanded us to stone to death such women. What then do you say?”

Why don’t you understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot accept my teaching.

Who among you can prove me guilty of any sin? If I am telling you the truth, why don’t you believe me?

Many of them were saying, “He is possessed by a demon and has lost his mind! Why do you listen to him?”

Jesus replied, “If I have said something wrong, confirm what is wrong. But if I spoke correctly, why strike me?”

So Jesus said to them, “Children, you don’t have any fish, do you?” They replied, “No.”

All were astounded and greatly confused, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”

Then he said to the council, “Men of Israel, pay close attention to what you are about to do to these men.
