For this reason I tell you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Jesus said to them, “Aren’t you deceived for this reason, because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God?

While they were eating, he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it. This is my body.”

He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Take this cup away from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

But Jesus said to them, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns too, for that is what I was sent to do.”

Jesus answered them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry –

When they came to Jesus, they urged him earnestly, “He is worthy to have you do this for him,

Now if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.

For this reason also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’

Then he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

But the worker answered him, ‘Sir, leave it alone this year too, until I dig around it and put fertilizer on it.

But the twelve understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what Jesus meant.

And in the same way he took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

So they began to question one another as to which of them it could possibly be who would do this.

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Yet not my will but yours be done.”

Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And after he said this he breathed his last.

I did not recognize him, but I came baptizing with water so that he could be revealed to Israel.”

After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples, and they stayed there a few days.

The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.”

“Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
