And if Satan rises against himself and is divided, he is not able to stand and his end has come.

Then Jesus’ mother and his brothers came. Standing outside, they sent word to him, to summon him.

When the sun came up it was scorched, and because it did not have sufficient root, it withered.

For nothing is hidden except to be revealed, and nothing concealed except to be brought to light.

And he said to them, “Why are you cowardly? Do you still not have faith?”

Those who had seen what had happened to the demon-possessed man reported it, and they also told about the pigs.

As he was getting into the boat the man who had been demon-possessed asked if he could go with him.

Jesus called the twelve and began to send them out two by two. He gave them authority over the unclean spirits.

When they saw him walking on the water they thought he was a ghost. They cried out,

because they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

They ran through that whole region and began to bring the sick on mats to wherever he was rumored to be.

She answered, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

They also had a few small fish. After giving thanks for these, he told them to serve these as well.

He asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.”

When the whole crowd saw him, they were amazed and ran at once and greeted him.

Then, after he went into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

But they did not understand this statement and were afraid to ask him.

They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her.”
