When the Lord saw her, he had compassion for her and said to her, “Do not weep.”

(Now all the people who heard this, even the tax collectors, acknowledged God’s justice, because they had been baptized with John’s baptism.

Other seed fell on rock, and when it came up, it withered because it had no moisture.

Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’

Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, because it is impossible that a prophet should be killed outside Jerusalem.’

Then the slave said, ‘Sir, what you instructed has been done, and there is still room.’

He was longing to eat the carob pods the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

“There was a rich man who dressed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day.

He fell with his face to the ground at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. (Now he was a Samaritan.)

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so too it will be in the days of the Son of Man.
