After Jesus called the twelve together, he gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases,

They all ate and were satisfied, and what was left over was picked up – twelve baskets of broken pieces.

Heal the sick in that town and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come upon you!’

But the Pharisees and the experts in the law were complaining, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

Now people were even bringing their babies to him for him to touch. But when the disciples saw it, they began to scold those who brought them.

Then Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by whose authority I do these things.”

So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

So Jesus said to them, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage.

He went away and discussed with the chief priests and officers of the temple guard how he might betray Jesus, handing him over to them.

So they said, “Look, Lord, here are two swords.” Then he told them, “It is enough.”

So he said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you will not fall into temptation!”

While they were talking and debating these things, Jesus himself approached and began to accompany them

Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them the things written about himself in all the scriptures.

Then they told what had happened on the road, and how they recognized him when he broke the bread.

While they were saying these things, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

Then he said to them, “Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

And while they still could not believe it (because of their joy) and were amazed, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

and said to them, “Thus it stands written that the Christ would suffer and would rise from the dead on the third day,

Jesus told the servants, “Fill the water jars with water.” So they filled them up to the very top.

Jesus replied, “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up again.”
