Now then, my son, do what I say. Run away immediately to my brother Laban in Haran.

Laban replied, “I’d rather give her to you than to another man. Stay with me.”

If you send our brother with us, we’ll go down and buy food for you.

Any children that you father after them will be yours; they will be listed under the names of their brothers in their inheritance.

Judah, your brothers will praise you. Your hand will be on the neck of your enemies, your father’s sons will bow down before you.

Then his brothers also came and threw themselves down before him; they said, “Here we are; we are your slaves.”

So now go, and I will be with your mouth and will teach you what you must say.”

You must observe this event as an ordinance for you and for your children forever.

The Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and make them wash their clothes

And the incense that you are to make, you must not make for yourselves using the same recipe; it is to be most holy to you, belonging to the Lord.

“You must observe the Feast of Weeks – the firstfruits of the harvest of wheat – and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year.

You may have the Sabbath produce of the land to eat – you, your male servant, your female servant, your hired worker, the resident foreigner who stays with you,

You may buy it from your fellow citizen according to the number of years since the last jubilee; he may sell it to you according to the years of produce that are left.

“‘If your brother becomes impoverished with regard to you so that he sells himself to you, you must not subject him to slave service.

You are to eat it as a most holy offering; every male may eat it. It will be holy to you.

So now, go back where you came from! I said that I would greatly honor you; but now the Lord has stood in the way of your honor.”

be careful not to forget the Lord who brought you out of Egypt, that place of slavery.

You will eat your fill and then praise the Lord your God because of the good land he has given you.

and to keep the Lord’s commandments and statutes that I am giving you today for your own good?
