When he led his people out, they rejoiced; his chosen ones shouted with joy.

I am so starved my knees shake; I have turned into skin and bones.

His work is majestic and glorious, and his faithfulness endures forever.

This has been my practice, for I observe your precepts.

I consider my actions and follow your rules.

They have almost destroyed me here on the earth, but I do not reject your precepts.

Your rules remain just. Give me insight so that I can live.

They rebel against you and act deceitfully; your enemies lie.

My child, do not let them escape from your sight; safeguard sound wisdom and discretion.

The wise inherit honor, but he holds fools up to public contempt.

You who are naive, discern wisdom! And you fools, understand discernment!

For my mouth speaks truth, and my lips hate wickedness.

by me princes rule, as well as nobles and all righteous judges.

The one who loves discipline loves knowledge, but the one who hates reproof is stupid.

The righteous do not encounter any harm, but the wicked are filled with calamity.
