If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.

<p class="bodytext">In the house once again, the disciples asked him about this.

But no one is able to enter a strong man&#8217;s<n id="1" /> house and steal his property unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can thoroughly plunder his house.<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> as soon as they left the synagogue,<n id="2" /> they entered Simon and Andrew&#8217;s house, with James and John.

He said to them, &#8220;Wherever you enter a house, stay there<n id="1" /> until you leave the area.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> they came to Capernaum.<n id="2" /> After Jesus<n id="3" /> was inside the house he asked them, &#8220;What were you discussing on the way?&#8221;

They<n id="1" /> devour widows&#8217; property,<n id="2" /> and as a show make long prayers. These men will receive a more severe punishment.&#8221;p>

The one on the roof<n id="1" /> must not come down or go inside to take anything out of his house.<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">After Jesus<n id="1" /> left there, he went to the region of Tyre.<n id="2" /> When he went into a house, he did not want anyone to know, but<n id="3" /> he was not able to escape notice.

Stay alert, then, because you do not know when the owner of the house will return &#8211; whether during evening, at midnight, when the rooster crows, or at dawn &#8211;

As Jesus<n id="1" /> was having a meal<n id="2" /> in Levi&#8217;s<n id="3" /> home, many tax collectors<n id="4" /> and sinners were eating with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.

Then<n id="1" /> Jesus said to them, &#8220;A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown, and among his relatives, and in his own house.&#8221;

Jesus said, &#8220;I tell you the truth,<n id="1" /> there is no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the gospel

who will not receive in this age<n id="1" /> a hundred times as much &#8211; homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, fields, all with persecutions<n id="2" /> &#8211; and in the age to come, eternal life.<n id="3" />

It is like a man going on a journey. He left his house and put his slaves<n id="1" /> in charge, assigning<n id="2" /> to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to stay alert.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> while Jesus<n id="2" /> was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, reclining at the table,<n id="3" /> a woman came with an alabaster jar<n id="4" /> of costly aromatic oil<n id="5" /> from pure nard. After breaking open the jar, she poured it on his head.
