<t /><p class="bodytext">When they found him on the other side of the lake,<n id="1" /> they said to him, &#8220;Rabbi, when did you get here?&#8221;<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">So then they said to him, &#8220;What must we do to accomplish the deeds<n id="1" /> God requires?&#8221;<n id="2" />

So they said to him, &#8220;Sir,<n id="1" /> give us this bread all the time!&#8221;p>

but<n id="1" /> I know him, because I have come from him<n id="2" /> and he<n id="3" /> sent me.&#8221;p>

None of the rulers<n id="1" /> or the Pharisees have believed in him, have they?<n id="2" />

For this reason his parents said, &#8220;He is a mature adult,<n id="1" /> ask him.&#8221;)<n id="2" />p>

The man<n id="1" /> replied,<n id="2" /> &#8220;And who is he, sir, that<n id="3" /> I may believe in him?&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">The Jewish leaders<n id="1" /> picked up rocks again to stone him to death.

Then<n id="1" /> they attempted<n id="2" /> again to seize him, but he escaped their clutches.<n id="3" />p>

So when Mary<n id="1" /> heard this, she got up quickly and went to him.

Thus the people who had come to mourn<n id="1" /> said, &#8220;Look how much he loved him!&#8221;

So from that day they planned together to kill him.p>

for on account of him many of the Jewish people from Jerusalem<n id="1" /> were going away and believing in Jesus.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Although Jesus<n id="1" /> had performed<n id="2" /> so many miraculous signs before them, they still refused to believe in him,

Then Annas sent him, still tied up,<n id="1" /> to Caiaphas the high priest.<n id="2" />p>

Then Pilate<n id="1" /> handed him over<n id="2" /> to them to be crucified.p><t /><p class="bodytext">So they took Jesus,

There they<n id="1" /> crucified<n id="2" /> him along with two others,<n id="3" /> one on each side, with Jesus in the middle.

(For they did not yet understand<n id="1" /> the scripture that Jesus<n id="2" /> must rise from the dead.)<n id="3" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> this was<n id="2" /> John&#8217;s<n id="3" /> testimony<n id="4" /> when the Jewish leaders<n id="5" /> sent<n id="6" /> priests and Levites from Jerusalem<n id="7" /> to ask him, &#8220;Who are you?&#8221;<n id="8" />

For this is the will of my Father &#8211; for everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him to have eternal life, and I will raise him up<n id="1" /> at the last day.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>
