<t /><p class="bodytext">While they were saying these things, Jesus<n id="1" /> himself stood among them and said to them, &#8220;Peace be with you.&#8221;<n id="2" />

Then<n id="1" /> he said to them, &#8220;Why are you frightened,<n id="2" /> and why do doubts<n id="3" /> arise in your hearts?

And while they still could not believe it<n id="1" /> (because of their joy) and were amazed,<n id="2" /> he said to them, &#8220;Do you have anything here to eat?&#8221;<n id="3" />

and said to them, &#8220;Thus it stands written that the Christ<n id="1" /> would suffer<n id="2" /> and would rise from the dead on the third day,

But they did not have a child, because Elizabeth was barren,<n id="1" /> and they were both very old.<n id="2" />p>

But the angel said to them, &#8220;Do not be afraid! Listen carefully,<n id="1" /> for I proclaim to you good news<n id="2" /> that brings great joy to all the people:

John<n id="1" /> answered them,<n id="2" /> &#8220;The person who has two tunics<n id="3" /> must share with the person who has none, and the person who has food must do likewise.&#8221;

and Joanna the wife of Cuza<n id="1" /> (Herod&#8217;s<n id="2" /> household manager),<n id="3" /> Susanna, and many others who provided for them<n id="4" /> out of their own resources.p>

Then<n id="1" /> he said to them, &#8220;But who do you say that I am?&#8221; Peter<n id="2" /> answered,<n id="3" /> &#8220;The Christ<n id="4" /> of God.&#8221;

So he said to them, &#8220;When you pray,<n id="1" /> say:p> <p class="poetry">Father,<n id="2" /> may your name be honored;<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">may your kingdom come.<n id="4" />p>

But Jesus,<n id="1" /> realizing their thoughts, said to them,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Every kingdom divided against itself is destroyed,<n id="3" /> and a divided household falls.<n id="4" />

He<n id="1" /> answered them, &#8220;Do you think these Galileans were worse sinners<n id="2" /> than all the other Galileans, because they suffered these things?

But<n id="1" /> he said to them, &#8220;Go<n id="2" /> and tell that fox,<n id="3" /> &#8216;Look, I am casting out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day<n id="4" /> I will complete my work.<n id="5" />

The<n id="1" /> younger of them said to his<n id="2" /> father, &#8216;Father, give me the share of the estate<n id="3" /> that will belong<n id="4" /> to me.&#8217; So<n id="5" /> he divided his<n id="6" /> assets between them.<n id="7" />

(for I have five brothers) to warn<n id="1" /> them so that they don&#8217;t come<n id="2" /> into this place of torment.&#8217;

When<n id="1" /> he saw them he said, &#8220;Go<n id="2" /> and show yourselves to the priests.&#8221;<n id="3" /> And<n id="4" /> as they went along, they were cleansed.

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> the disciples<n id="2" /> said<n id="3" /> to him, &#8220;Where,<n id="4" /> Lord?&#8221; He replied to them, &#8220;Where the dead body<n id="5" /> is, there the vultures<n id="6" /> will gather.&#8221;<n id="7" />p>

Won&#8217;t<n id="1" /> God give justice to his chosen ones, who cry out<n id="2" /> to him day and night?<n id="3" /> Will he delay<n id="4" /> long to help them?

And he summoned ten of his slaves,<n id="1" /> gave them ten minas,<n id="2" /> and said to them, &#8216;Do business with these until I come back.&#8217;

saying to them, &#8220;It is written, &#8216;<b><i>My house will be a house of prayeri>b>,&#8217;<n id="1" /> but you have turned it into <b><i>a deni>b><n id="2" /> <b><i>of robbersi>b>!&#8221;<n id="3" />p>
