<p class="poetry">Listen to me, O Jacob,p> <p class="poetry">Israel, whom I summoned!p> <p class="poetry">I am the one;p> <p class="poetry">I am present at the very beginningp> <p class="poetry">and at the very end.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">They will rebuild the perpetual ruinsp> <p class="poetry">and restore the places that were desolate;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">they will reestablish the ruined cities,p> <p class="poetry">the places that have been desolate since ancient times.p>

I will restore Judah and Israel<n id="1" /> and will rebuild them as they were in days of old.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">In the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first day of the month,<n id="1" /> the word of the <sc>Lordsc> came to me:

The male goat<n id="1" /> is the king of Greece,<n id="2" /> and the large horn between its eyes is the first king.

But I will be different now to this remnant of my people from the way I was in those days,&#8217; says the <sc>Lordsc> who rules over all,

For seven days<n id="1" /> you must eat<n id="2" /> bread made without yeast.<n id="3" /> Surely<n id="4" /> on the first day you must put away yeast from your houses because anyone who eats bread made with yeast<n id="5" /> from the first day to the seventh day will be cut off<n id="6" /> from Israel.p>

They departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the day<n id="1" /> after the Passover the Israelites went out defiantly<n id="2" /> in plain sight<n id="3" /> of all the Egyptians.

On the first day of the first month they began consecrating; by the eighth day of the month they reached the porch of the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s temple.<n id="1" /> For eight more days they consecrated the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s temple. On the sixteenth day of the first month they were finished.
