“‘Then the priest will bring her near and have her stand ¹  before the Lord.

But if when her husband hears it he overrules her, then he will nullify ¹  the vow she has taken, ²  and whatever she uttered impulsively which she has pledged for herself. And the Lord will release her from it.

And do this ¹  to them to purify them: Sprinkle water of purification ²  on them; then have them shave ³  all their body ⁴  and wash ⁵  their clothes, and so purify themselves. ⁶ 

“‘Then the priest must present all these ¹  before the Lord and offer ²  his purification offering and his burnt offering.

So they said to one another, ¹  “Let’s appoint ²  a leader ³  and return ⁴  to Egypt.”

set him ¹  before Eleazar the priest and before the whole community, and commission ²  him publicly. ³ 

“And if she marries a husband while under a vow, ¹  or she uttered ²  anything impulsively by which she has pledged herself,

If she made the vow in her husband’s house or put herself under obligation with an oath,

Then he must offer the ram as a peace offering ¹  to the Lord, with the basket of bread made without yeast; the priest must also offer his grain offering and his drink offering.

The Lord said to Moses, “Bring Aaron’s staff back before the testimony to be preserved for a sign to the rebels, so that you may bring their murmurings to an end ¹  before me, that they will not die.” ² 

everything that may stand the fire, you are to pass through the fire, ¹  and it will be ceremonially clean, but it must still be purified with the water of purification. Anything that cannot withstand the fire you must pass through the water.

“You must not pollute the land where you live, for blood defiles the land, and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed there, except by the blood of the person who shed it.

Then the priest will put the woman under oath and say to the her, “If no other ¹  man has had sexual relations with you, and if you have not gone astray and become defiled while under your husband’s authority, may you be free from this bitter water that brings a curse. ² 

“The Israelites are to observe ¹  the Passover ²  at its appointed time. ³ 

Then Moses cried to the Lord, “Heal her now, O God.” ¹ 

Then Israel sang ¹  this song: “Spring up, O well, sing to it!

You must take one leader from every ¹  tribe to assist in allocating the land as an inheritance. ² 

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Number all the firstborn males of the Israelites from a month old and upward, and take ¹  the number of their names.

“How long must I bear ¹  with this evil congregation ²  that murmurs against me? I have heard the complaints of the Israelites that they murmured against me.

“You and Eleazar the priest, and all the family leaders of the community, take the sum ¹  of the plunder that was captured, both people and animals.
