As ¹  I was en route and near Damascus, ²  about noon a very bright ³  light from heaven ⁴  suddenly flashed ⁵  around me.

I know that after I am gone ¹  fierce wolves ²  will come in among you, not sparing the flock.

came ¹  to me and stood beside me ²  and said to me, ‘Brother Saul, regain your sight!’ ³  And at that very moment ⁴  I looked up and saw him. ⁵

For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong ¹  and whom I serve ²  came to me ³

because I am with you, and no one will assault ¹  you to harm ²  you, because I have many people in this city.”

Therefore be alert, ¹  remembering that night and day for three years I did not stop warning ²  each one of you with tears.
