Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help. ¹ 

But we passionately want each of you to demonstrate the same eagerness for the fulfillment of your hope until the end,

Think of him who endured such opposition against himself by sinners, so that you may not grow weary in your souls and give up.

Besides, we have experienced discipline from ¹  our earthly fathers ²  and we respected them; shall we not submit ourselves all the more to the Father of spirits and receive life? ³ 

and make straight paths for your feet, ¹  so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but be healed.

Now all discipline seems painful at the time, not joyful. ¹  But later it produces the fruit of peace and righteousness ²  for those trained by it.

For he did not put the world to come, ¹  about which we are speaking, ²  under the control of angels.

For we have become partners with Christ, if in fact we hold our initial confidence ¹  firm until the end.

For the one who enters God’s ¹  rest has also rested from his works, just as God did from his own works.

For everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced in the message of righteousness, because he is an infant.

For they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned.” ¹ 

Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to conduct ourselves rightly in every respect.

keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God. ¹ 

Therefore it remains for some to enter it, yet those to whom it was previously proclaimed did not enter because of disobedience.

In the same way ¹  God wanted to demonstrate more clearly to the heirs of the promise that his purpose was unchangeable, ²  and so he intervened with an oath,

and in one case tithes are received by mortal men, while in the other by him who is affirmed to be alive.

They served only for matters of food and drink ¹  and various washings; they are external regulations ²  imposed until the new order came. ³ 

So since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us give thanks, and through this let us offer worship pleasing to God in devotion and awe.

For they disciplined us for a little while as seemed good to them, but he does so for our benefit, that we may share his holiness.

See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God, that no one be like a bitter root springing up ¹  and causing trouble, and through him many become defiled.
