“‘A man or woman who ¹  has in them a spirit of the dead or a familiar spirit ²  must be put to death. They must pelt them with stones; ³  their blood guilt is on themselves.’”

but he must not go into the veil-canopy ¹  or step forward to the altar because he has a physical flaw. Thus ²  he must not profane my holy places, for I am the Lord who sanctifies them.’”

“‘On this very day you must proclaim an assembly; it is to be a holy assembly for you. ¹  You must not do any regular work. This is a perpetual statute in all the places where you live throughout your generations. ² 

It is a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must humble yourselves on the ninth day of the month in the evening, from evening until evening you must observe your Sabbath.” ¹ 

You must celebrate it as a pilgrim festival to the Lord for seven days in the year. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations; ¹  you must celebrate it in the seventh month.

“‘If he cannot afford ¹  two turtledoves or two young pigeons, ²  he must bring as his offering for his sin which he has committed ³  a tenth of an ephah ⁴  of choice wheat flour ⁵  for a sin offering. He must not place olive oil on it and he must not put frankincense on it, because it is a sin offering.

“‘Then the priest ¹  must take all its fat ²  and offer the fat ³  up in smoke on the altar.

“‘But if he brings a sheep as his offering, for a sin offering, he must bring a flawless female.

Anyone who touches his bed ¹  must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening. ² 

Anyone who touches any furniture she sits on must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

He must then take the two goats ¹  and stand them before the Lord at the entrance of the Meeting Tent,

On the first day there will be a holy assembly for you; you must not do any regular work. ¹ 

Moreover, ¹  the open field areas of their cities ²  must not be sold, because that is their perpetual possession.

Every conversion value must be calculated by the standard of the sanctuary shekel; ¹  twenty gerahs to the shekel.

This is ¹  a perpetual statute throughout your generations ²  in all the places where you live: You must never eat any fat or any blood.’” ³ 

And you must not eat any blood of the birds or the domesticated land animals in any of the places where you live. ¹ 

For seven days you must present a gift to the Lord. On the eighth day there is to be a holy assembly for you, and you must present a gift to the Lord. It is a solemn assembly day; ¹  you must not do any regular work.

“‘If his offering is a burnt offering ¹  from the herd he must present it as a flawless male; he must present it at the entrance ²  of the Meeting Tent for its ³  acceptance before the Lord.

Next, the one presenting the offering ¹  must cut it into parts, with its head and its suet, and the priest must arrange them on the wood which is in the fire, on the altar.

The priest must present it at the altar, pinch off ¹  its head and offer the head ²  up in smoke on the altar, and its blood must be drained out against the side of the altar.
