And in the same way he took ¹  the cup after they had eaten, ²  saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant ³  in my blood.

So ¹  when they came to the place that is called “The Skull,” ²  they crucified ³  him there, along with the criminals, one on his right and one on his left.

The ¹  women ²  were terribly frightened ³  and bowed ⁴  their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living ⁵  among the dead?

that ¹  the Son of Man must be delivered ²  into the hands of sinful men, ³  and be crucified, ⁴  and on the third day rise again.” ⁵ 

And now, ¹  because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time, ²  you will be silent, unable to speak, ³  until the day these things take place.”

And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in strips of cloth ¹  and laid him in a manger, ²  because there was no place for them in the inn. ³ 

In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, ¹  when Pontius Pilate ²  was governor of Judea, and Herod ³  was tetrarch ⁴  of Galilee, and his brother Philip ⁵  was tetrarch of the region of Iturea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias ⁶  was tetrarch of Abilene,

They got up, forced ¹  him out of the town, ²  and brought him to the brow of the hill on which their town was built, so that ³  they could throw him down the cliff. ⁴ 

Demons also came out ¹  of many, crying out, ²  “You are the Son of God!” ³  But he rebuked ⁴  them, and would not allow them to speak, ⁵  because they knew that he was the Christ. ⁶ 

Give, and it will be given to you: A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, ¹  will be poured ²  into your lap. For the measure you use will be the measure you receive.” ³ 

So listen carefully, ¹  for whoever has will be given more, but ²  whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has ³  will be taken from him.”

As ¹  Jesus ²  stepped ashore, ³  a certain man from the town ⁴  met him who was possessed by demons. ⁵  For a long time this man ⁶  had worn no clothes and had not lived in a house, but among ⁷  the tombs.

But he said to them, “You ¹  give them something to eat.” They ²  replied, ³  “We have no more than five loaves and two fish – unless ⁴  we go ⁵  and buy food ⁶  for all these people.”

For whoever is ashamed ¹  of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person ²  when he comes in his glory and in the glory ³  of the Father and of the holy angels.

Then ¹  he said to them, “Watch out and guard yourself from ²  all types of greed, ³  because one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

then the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee, and will cut him in two, ¹  and assign him a place with the unfaithful. ² 

“If anyone comes to me and does not hate ¹  his own father and mother, and wife and children, and brothers and sisters, and even his own life, ²  he cannot be my disciple.

Thus ¹  they asked him, “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach correctly, ²  and show no partiality, but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. ³ 

He ¹  said, “Watch out ²  that you are not misled. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ ³  and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them!

They ¹  will fall by the edge ²  of the sword and be led away as captives ³  among all nations. Jerusalem ⁴  will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. ⁵
