Jesus ¹  answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. ² 

Heal ¹  the sick in that town ²  and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God ³  has come upon ⁴  you!’

and he sent ¹  them out to proclaim ²  the kingdom of God ³  and to heal the sick. ⁴ 

A centurion ¹  there ²  had a slave ³  who was highly regarded, ⁴  but who was sick and at the point of death.

As the sun was setting, all those who had any relatives ¹  sick with various diseases brought them to Jesus. ²  He placed ³  his hands on every one of them and healed them.

At that very time ¹  Jesus ²  cured many people of diseases, sicknesses, ³  and evil spirits, and granted ⁴  sight to many who were blind.

So ¹  when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the slave ²  well.

When ¹  Jesus saw her, he called her to him ²  and said, “Woman, ³  you are freed ⁴  from your infirmity.” ⁵ 

But the news about him spread even more, ¹  and large crowds were gathering together to hear him ²  and to be healed of their illnesses.

and a woman was there ¹  who had been disabled by a spirit ²  for eighteen years. She ³  was bent over and could not straighten herself up completely. ⁴ 

After Jesus left ¹  the synagogue, he entered Simon’s house. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus ²  to help her. ³ 

“For ¹  no good tree bears bad ²  fruit, nor again ³  does a bad tree bear good fruit,

Then ¹  they departed and went throughout ²  the villages, proclaiming the good news ³  and healing people everywhere.

But they remained silent. So ¹  Jesus ²  took hold of the man, ³  healed him, and sent him away. ⁴ 

and also some women ¹  who had been healed of evil spirits and disabilities: ²  Mary ³  (called Magdalene), from whom seven demons had gone out,

But ¹  since they found ²  no way to carry him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof ³  and let him down on the stretcher ⁴  through the roof tiles ⁵  right ⁶  in front of Jesus. ⁷ 

But so that you may know ¹  that the Son of Man ²  has authority on earth to forgive sins” – he said to the paralyzed man ³  – “I tell you, stand up, take your stretcher ⁴  and go home.” ⁵ 

Now on ¹  one of those days, while he was teaching, there were Pharisees ²  and teachers of the law ³  sitting nearby (who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem), ⁴  and the power of the Lord was with him ⁵  to heal.
