• [2Co 4:1] Since Through God’s Mercy

  Since through God’s mercy this ministry’s ours, Bringing men righteousness through God’s great power, We don’t lose heart but renounce shameful ways; We don’t deceive but the truth plainly say. To unbelievers our message is veiled; They are made blind by the god of this world. But God who said, “Let the dark turn to light,” Shined in our hearts with His glory so bright. We are hard pressed on all sides but not crushed; We are perplexed, but we never give up; We’re persecuted but not left by God; We are struck down, but we’re never destroyed. We have this treasure in jars made of clay, That God’s great power and not ours be displayed. Within our bodies Christ’s death do we show, That Jesus’ life in us now may be known. We know we’ll be raised with Jesus one day; Therefore, our trials do not cause dismay. Though on the outside we’re wasting away, Inwardly we are renewed day by day. Our present troubles will soon pass away; Eternal glory they’ll bring us some day. We fix our eyes not on what we can see; Only the unseen will eternal be.

Psalms 119:81

• [Psa 119:81] My Soul For Thy Salvation Faints

  My soul for Thy salvation faints, But still I hope in Thee; I long to see Thy promised help, When Thou shalt comfort me. Thy statutes I do not forget, Though wasting grief I know; Thy servant’s days are few, O Lord: When wilt Thou judge my foe? The proud, disdainful of Thy law, Entrap me wrongfully; O Thou, whose law is just and true, Help and deliver me. Almost consumed, yet from Thy law I have not turned away; In lovingkindness give me strength, That I may still obey.

Isaiah 40:1

• [Isa 40:1] Comfort, Comfort Ye My People

  Comfort, comfort ye My people, Speak ye peace, thus saith our God; Comfort those who sit in darkness, Mourning ’neath their sorrow’s load; Speak ye to Jerusalem Of the peace that waits for them; Tell her that her sins I cover, And her warfare now is over. For the herald’s voice is crying In the desert far and near, Bidding all men to repentance, Since the kingdom now is here. O that warning cry obey! Now prepare for God a way! Let the valleys rise to meet Him, And the hills bow down to greet Him. Yea, her sins our God will pardon, Blotting out each dark misdeed; All that well deserved His anger He will no more see nor heed. She has suffered many a day, Now her griefs have passed away, God will change her pining sadness Into ever springing gladness. Make ye straight what long was crooked, Make the rougher places plain: Let your hearts be true and humble, As befits His holy reign, For the glory of the Lord Now o’er the earth is shed abroad, And all flesh shall see the token That His Word is never broken.
