Galatians 3:7-8

3:7 so then, understand ¹  that those who believe are the sons of Abraham. ²  3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, proclaimed the gospel to Abraham ahead of time, ³  saying, “All the nations ⁴  will be blessed in you.” ⁵ 

Galatians 3:14

3:14 in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles, ⁶  so that we could receive the promise of the Spirit by faith.

Galatians 3:29

3:29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, ⁷  heirs according to the promise.

4:28 But you, ⁸  brothers and sisters, ⁹  are children of the promise like Isaac.

Romans 4:11

4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised, ¹⁰  so that he would become ¹¹  the father of all those who believe but have never been circumcised, ¹²  that they too could have righteousness credited to them.

Romans 4:16

4:16 For this reason it is by faith so that it may be by grace, ¹³  with the result that the promise may be certain to all the descendants – not only to those who are under the law, but also to those who have the faith of Abraham, ¹⁴  who is the father of us all

[3:7]  ² tn The phrase “sons of Abraham” is used here in a figurative sense to describe people who are connected to a personality, Abraham, by close nonmaterial ties. It is this personality that has defined the relationship and its characteristics (BDAG 1024-25 s.v. υἱός 2.c.α).

[3:8]  ³ tn For the Greek verb προευαγγελίζομαι (proeuangelizomai) translated as “proclaim the gospel ahead of time,” compare L&N 33.216.
