Jeremiah 4:25

4:25 I looked and saw that there were no more people, ¹ 

and that all the birds in the sky had flown away.

Jeremiah 7:20

7:20 So,” the Lord God ²  says, “my raging fury will be poured out on this land. ³  It will be poured out on human beings and animals, on trees and crops. ⁴  And it will burn like a fire which cannot be extinguished.”

Hosea 4:3

4:3 Therefore the land will mourn,

and all its inhabitants will perish. ⁵ 

The wild animals, ⁶  the birds of the sky,

and even the fish in the sea will perish.

Habakkuk 3:17

3:17 When ⁷  the fig tree does not bud,

and there are no grapes on the vines;

when the olive trees do not produce, ⁸ 

and the fields yield no crops; ⁹ 

when the sheep disappear ¹⁰  from the pen,

and there are no cattle in the stalls,

[7:20]  ² tn Heb “Lord Yahweh.” The translation follows the ancient Jewish tradition of substituting the Hebrew word for God for the proper name Yahweh.

[7:20]  ³ tn Heb “this place.” Some see this as a reference to the temple but the context has been talking about what goes on in the towns of Judah and Jerusalem and the words that follow, meant as a further explanation, are applied to the whole land.
