Harem

NET Glossary: the part of an ancient Near Eastern palace where the king's wives, concubines, and their servants and attendants lived (Esth 2:3, 9, 11, 13, 14, where the Hebrew expression is literally "the house of the women"); occasionally by metonymy for the wives and concubines who resided there (Eccl 2:8)
