2:3 The sons of Judah:

Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born to him by Bathshua,¹ a Canaanite woman. Er, Judah’s firstborn, displeased the Lord, so the Lord killed him.²

7:28 Their property and settlements included Bethel³ and its surrounding towns, Naaran to the east, Gezer and its surrounding towns to the west, and Shechem and its surrounding towns as far as Ayyah and its surrounding towns.
