[2:31]  1 tn Heb “sons.” The Hebrew text has the plural “sons” in all three instances in this verse, even though the following lists have only one name each.

[4:15]  2 tn Heb “and the sons of Elah and Kenaz.” Kenaz was actually the son of Elah.

[6:26]  3 tc The consonantal Hebrew text (Kethib) has, “Elkanah, his son, Elkanah.” The marginal reading (Qere) is “Elkanah, the sons of Elkanah.” The text probably originally read simply, “Elkanah his son.”

[9:3]  4 map For location see Map5 B1; Map6 F3; Map7 E2; Map8 F2; Map10 B3; JP1 F4; JP2 F4; JP3 F4; JP4 F4.

[24:20]  5 tn Heb “Belonging to the rest of the sons of Levi.”

[24:20]  6 tn This appears to be a variant of the name Shebuel (cf. 1 Chr 23:16 and 26:24).
