1 Chronicles 12:18
Context12:18 But a spirit 4 empowered 5 Amasai, the leader of the thirty warriors, and he said: 6
“We are yours, O David!
We support 7 you, O son of Jesse!
May you greatly prosper! 8
May those who help you prosper! 9
Indeed 10 your God helps you!”
So David accepted them and made them leaders of raiding bands.

[22:11] 1 tn Heb “as he spoke concerning you.”
[11:2] 3 tn Heb “you were the one who led out and the one who brought in Israel.”
[12:18] 4 tn Perhaps “the Spirit,” but the text has simply רוּחַ (ruakh) with no article (suggesting an indefinite reference).
[12:18] 6 tn The words “and he said” are supplied in the translation for clarity and for stylistic reasons.
[12:18] 8 tn Heb “Peace, peace to you.” The Hebrew term שָׁלוֹם (shalom, “peace”) is repeated to emphasize degree.
