1 Chronicles 26:20-27

Supervisors of the Storehouses

26:20 Their fellow Levites were in charge of the storehouses 1  in God’s temple and the storehouses containing consecrated items. 26:21 The descendants of Ladan, 2  who were descended from Gershon through Ladan and were leaders of the families of Ladan the Gershonite, included Jehieli 3  26:22 and the sons of Jehieli, Zetham and his brother Joel. They were in charge of the storehouses in the Lord’s temple.

26:23 As for the Amramites, Izharites, Hebronites, and Uzzielites:

26:24 Shebuel 4  son of Gershom, the son of Moses, was the supervisor of the storehouses. 26:25 His relatives through Eliezer included: Rehabiah his son, Jeshaiah his son, Joram his son, Zikri his son, and Shelomith 5  his son. 26:26 Shelomith 6  and his relatives were in charge of all the storehouses containing the consecrated items dedicated by King David, the family leaders who led units of a thousand and a hundred, and the army officers. 26:27 They had dedicated some of the plunder taken in battles to be used for repairs on the Lord’s temple.

The sons of Raamah:

Sheba and Dedan.

1:10 Cush was the father of Nimrod, who established himself as a mighty warrior on earth. 11 

1:11 Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites, 1:12 Pathrusites, Casluhites (from whom the Philistines descended 12 ), and the Caphtorites.

Nehemiah 10:38-39

10:38 A priest of Aaron’s line 13  will be with the Levites when the Levites collect the tithes, and the Levites will bring up a tenth of the tithes to the temple of our God, to the storerooms of the treasury. 10:39 The Israelites and the Levites will bring the contribution of the grain, the new wine, and the olive oil to the storerooms where the utensils of the sanctuary are kept, and where the priests who minister stay, along with the gatekeepers and the singers. We will not neglect the temple of our God.”

Nehemiah 13:5

13:5 He made for himself a large storeroom where previously they had been keeping 14  the grain offering, the incense, and the vessels, along with the tithes of the grain, the new wine, and the olive oil as commanded for the Levites, the singers, the gate keepers, and the offering for the priests.

[26:25]  5 tc The marginal reading (Qere) is “Shelomith,” while the consonantal text (Kethib) has “Shelomoth.”

[26:26]  6 tc The MT reads “Shelomoth”; the name is spelled “Shelomith” in the marginal reading (Qere) of v. 25.

The MT and most medieval Hebrew mss of the parallel list in Gen 10:4 read “Dodanim,” but a few have “Rodanim.”

[1:10]  11 tn Heb “he began to be a mighty warrior in the earth.”
