1 Chronicles 8:1-10
Bela <01106> [Bela.]
Aharah <0315> [Aharah.]
[Ahiram.]
Addar <0146> [Addar.]
The variation in this name is occasioned simply by the transposition of a {Dƒleth,] {daleth} and [Rˆysh,] {raish}; being in the parallel passage ['Ard <\\See definition 0714\\>,] Ard, and here [Addƒr <\\See definition 0146\\>,] Addar.
[Ard.]
Gera <01617> [Gera.]
Shephuphan <08197> [Shephuphan.]
[ShuppŒym <\\See definition 08206\\>,] Shuppim, seems to be merely a contracted form of [Sheph–wphƒm <\\See definition 08197\\>,] Shupham, or rather, Shephupham, which, by the mutation of [Mˆm,] {mem,} into [N–wn,] {noon,} is here changed into [Sheph–wphƒn <\\See definition 08197\\>,] Shephuphan.
[Shuppim.]
[Shupham. Huram.]
Huram appears to be an error for Hupham in the parallel passage of Numbers, which, by contraction, is written Huppim.
Ehud <0261> [Ehud.]
[Gera.]
Geba <01387> [Geba.]
Manahath <04506> [Manahath.]
<07704> [in the.]
divorced <07971> [he had.]
Hodesh <02321> [Hodesh.]
In the preceding verse it is said that "Hushim and Baara were his wives;" and here it said, "he begat of Hodesh his wife," etc; and then in the eleventh verse, his children by Hushim are mentioned, but not a word of Baara. It is probable, therefore, that Hodesh was another name for Baara; and this is asserted by the Targumist: "And he begat of Baara, that is, of Chodesh, his wife, so called because he espoused her anew."
