Thanksgiving

1:4 I always thank my God for you because of the grace of God that was given to you in Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 1:7-8

1:7 so that you do not lack any spiritual gift as you wait for the revelation ¹  of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1:8 He ²  will also strengthen you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[1:7]  ¹ sn The revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ refers to the Lord’s return, when he will be revealed (cf. the reference to the day of our Lord Jesus Christ in v. 8).

[1:8]  ¹ tn Grk “who,” referring to Christ. Because of the length and complexity of the Greek sentence, a new sentence was started here in the translation.

[3:16]  ¹ sn You are God’s temple refers here to the church, since the pronoun you is plural in the Greek text. (In 6:19 the same imagery is used in a different context to refer to the individual believer.)

[10:18]  ¹ tn Grk “Israel according to (the) flesh.”

[15:23]  ¹ tn Grk “then those who belong to Christ, at his coming.”
