11:39 I will humiliate David’s descendants because of this, ¹  but not forever.” ²

It is better to revocalize the consonantal text as תְעַנֵּם (tÿ’annem, “you afflict them”), a Piel verb form from the homonym עָנָה (“to afflict”).
