[13:12]  1 tn The Hebrew text has “and his sons saw” (וַיִּרְאוּ [vayyiru], Qal from רָאָה [raah]). In this case the verbal construction (vav consecutive + prefixed verbal form) would have to be understood as pluperfect, “his sons had seen.” Such uses of this construction are rare at best. Consequently many, following the lead of the ancient versions, prefer to emend the verbal form to a Hiphil with pronominal suffix (וַיַּרְאֻהוּ [vayyaruhu], “and they showed him”).

[13:12]  2 tn Heb “the man of God.”

[19:7]  3 tn Heb “for the journey is too great for you.”

[8:36]  5 tn The translation understands כִּי (ki) in an emphatic or asseverative sense.

[8:36]  6 tn Heb “the good way in which they should walk.”

[8:36]  7 tn Or “for an inheritance.”

[13:26]  7 tn Heb “and the prophet who had brought him back from the road heard.”

[13:26]  8 tn Heb “the man of God.”

[13:26]  9 tn Heb “the mouth of the Lord.”

[13:26]  10 tn Heb “broke him,” or “crushed him.”

[13:26]  11 tn Heb “according to the word of the Lord which he spoke to him.”
