13:4 When the king heard what the prophet 1  cried out against the altar in Bethel, Jeroboam, standing at the altar, extended his hand 2  and ordered, 3  “Seize him!” The hand he had extended shriveled up 4  and he could not pull it back.

13:33 After this happened, Jeroboam still did not change his evil ways; 5  he continued to appoint common people 6  as priests at the high places. Anyone who wanted the job he consecrated as a priest. 7
