1 Kings 14:31

14:31 Rehoboam passed away ¹  and was buried with his ancestors in the city of David. His mother was an Ammonite named Naamah. His son Abijah ²  replaced him as king.

1 Kings 2:26

2:26 The king then told Abiathar the priest, “Go back to your property ³  in Anathoth. You deserve to die, ⁴  but today I will not kill you because you did carry the ark of the sovereign Lord before my father David and you suffered with my father through all his difficult times.” ⁵

[14:31]  ² tn In the Hebrew text the name is spelled “Abijam” here and in 1 Kgs 15:1-8.

[2:26]  ⁴ tn Heb “you are a man of death.”

[2:26]  ⁵ tn Heb “and because you suffered through all which my father suffered.”
