17:14 For this is what the Lord God of Israel says, ‘The jar of flour will not be empty and the jug of oil will not run out until the day the Lord makes it rain on the surface of the ground.’” 17:15 She went and did as Elijah told her; there was always enough food for Elijah and for her and her family. 1  17:16 The jar of flour was never empty and the jug of oil never ran out, just as the Lord had promised 2  through Elijah.

Azariah son of Zadok was the priest.

4:3 Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, wrote down what happened. 4 

Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was in charge of the records.

4:4 Benaiah son of Jehoiada was commander of 5  the army.

Zadok and Abiathar were priests.

4:5 Azariah son of Nathan was supervisor of 6  the district governors.

Zabud son of Nathan was a priest and adviser to 7  the king.

4:6 Ahishar was supervisor of the palace. 8 

Adoniram son of Abda was supervisor of 9  the work crews. 10 

4:7 Solomon had twelve district governors appointed throughout Israel who acquired supplies for the king and his palace. Each was responsible for one month in the year.

4:1 King Solomon ruled over all Israel.
