David’s Final Words to Solomon

2:1 When David was close to death, ¹  he told ²  Solomon his son:

1 Kings 20:18

20:18 He ordered, “Whether they come in peace or to do battle, take them alive.” ³ 

1 Kings 21:9

21:9 This is what she wrote: ⁴  “Observe a time of fasting and seat Naboth in front of the people.

[20:18]  ³ tn Heb “if they come in peace, take them alive; if they come for battle, take them alive.”
