[2:12]  1 tn Or “kingship.”

[8:17]  2 tn Heb “and it was with the heart of David my father.”

[8:17]  3 tn Heb “to build a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.” The word “name” in the OT sometimes refers to one’s reputation or honor. The “name” of the Lord sometimes designates the Lord himself, being indistinguishable from the proper name.

[8:26]  3 tn Heb “the words that you spoke.”

[8:26]  4 tn Or “prove to be reliable.”

[22:46]  4 tn Heb “and the rest of the male cultic prostitutes who were left in the days of Asa his father, he burned from the land.” Some understand the verb בִּעֵר (bier) to mean “sweep away” here rather than “burn.” See the note at 1 Kgs 14:10.

[22:53]  5 tn Heb “he served Baal and bowed down to him.”

[22:53]  6 tn Heb “according to all which his father had done.”
