1 Kings 2:26

Context

2:26 The king then told Abiathar the priest, “Go back to your property 1  in Anathoth. You deserve to die, 2  but today I will not kill you because you did carry the ark of the sovereign Lord before my father David and you suffered with my father through all his difficult times.” 3 

1 Kings 3:6

3:6 Solomon replied, “You demonstrated 4  great loyalty to your servant, my father David, as he served 5  you faithfully, properly, and sincerely. 6  You have maintained this great loyalty to this day by allowing his son to sit on his throne. 7 

1 Kings 11:38

11:38 You must obey 8  all I command you to do, follow my instructions, 9  do what I approve, 10  and keep my rules and commandments, like my servant David did. Then I will be with you and establish for you a lasting dynasty, as I did for David; 11  I will give you Israel.

12:16 When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, the people answered the king, “We have no portion in David, no share in the son of Jesse! 12  Return to your homes, O Israel! 13  Now, look after your own dynasty, O David!” 14  So Israel returned to their homes. 15

[12:16]  11 tn Heb “to your tents, Israel.” The word “return” is supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[12:16]  12 tn Heb “Now see your house, David.”

[12:16]  13 tn Heb “went to their tents.”
