2:28 When the news reached Joab (for Joab had supported ¹  Adonijah, although he had not supported Absalom), he ²  ran to the tent of the Lord and grabbed hold of the horns of the altar. ³ 

1 Kings 13:24-25

13:24 As the prophet from Judah was traveling, a lion attacked him on the road and killed him. ⁴  His corpse was lying on the road, and the donkey and the lion just stood there beside it. ⁵  13:25 Some men came by ⁶  and saw the corpse lying in the road with the lion standing beside it. ⁷  They went and reported what they had seen ⁸  in the city where the old prophet lived.

13:28 He went and found the corpse lying in the road with the donkey and the lion standing beside it; ⁹  the lion had neither eaten the corpse nor attacked the donkey.

[2:28]  ³ sn Grabbed hold of the horns of the altar. The “horns” of the altar were the horn-shaped projections on the four corners of the altar (see Exod 27:2). By going to the holy place and grabbing hold of the horns of the altar, Joab was seeking asylum from Solomon.
