2:7 “Treat fairly ¹  the sons of Barzillai of Gilead and provide for their needs, ²  because they helped me ³  when I had to flee from your brother Absalom.

[2:7]  ² tn Heb “and let them be among the ones who eat [at] your table.”

[2:7]  ³ tn Heb “drew near to.”

[7:48]  ⁴ tn Heb “the bread of the face [or presence].” Many recent English versions employ “the bread of the Presence,” although this does not convey much to the modern reader.

[10:5]  ⁷ tn Heb “the food on his table.”

[10:5]  ⁸ tn Heb “the seating of his servants and the standing of his attendants.”
